Purchased from the collection of Ferenc Kiss in 2020, this archive documents the career of avant-garde actor, director, librarian and journalist Andor Tiszay throughout almost the entire 20th century. The archive consists of nearly 5 000 items, including avant-garde and modernist magazines, samizdat publications, posters, manuscripts and letters, and photographs. Tiszay's collection is important for the history of Hungarian literature, theater and society in three respects: as an avant-garde artist, as a theatrical man, and as an imprint of his Hungarian left-wing intellectual career.
This archive is currently being processed, researched and inventoried. It will be available for researchers in the near future.
