Fabricius Anna among the finalists of Meijburg Art Commision

From 20-22 September, the 12th Unseen Photo Fair will take place in Amsterdam, where Anna Fabricius will participate as a representative of TOBE Gallery. This year's winner of the Meijburg Art Commission will be announced at the opening on 19 September.  The prize is €5,000 and the winning work will be purchased by the Meijburg & Co collection. The prize, which was established in 2015, has a different theme each year and this year the concept of prosperity is the theme to which the selected works reflect. One of the finalists was a photograph taken for Fabricius' exhibition "Home is where work is?" at Kassák Museum.
"Fabricius was nominated for the Meijburg Art Commission 2024 for her incisive exploration of the invisible labour that underpins our global economic prosperity and the tensions that arise within the globalised and capitalist system. Her work highlights the fluid and multidimensional aspects of prosperity, demonstrating that the wealth of a small group often comes at the expense of a larger one. She underscores the importance of a broader definition of prosperity, one that is not only financially driven but also socially and ethically informed." (Nominees for the Meijburg Art Commission 2024: 2/5 Anna Fabricius, Unseen, 12.08.2024)
