Kassák! - Explore the Museum!
Curator-guided tour by art historian Edit Sasvári through the permanent exhibition
The Kassák Museum won two major world design awards for its image in 2012 (red dot: communication design and Good Design). The permanent exhibition tells the story of Lajos Kassák through the periodicals he edited, and the temporary exhibitions present the art of the avant-garde and modernism in its historical, cultural and social context. The exhibition provides a comprehensive view of the versatile oeuvre, the editorial, art and literary activities and the public roles of the great figure of Hungarian avant-garde. With the help of the contemporary documents, publications and works of fine art one can follow the highlights of Kassák’s career and the personal aspects of his course of life. Illustrations help visitors find their way around in the diverse international connections and the rich literary and journalistic work of Kassák. The different topics can also be studied in digital form with even more illustrations and explanatory texts.

Poetry and Performance - The Eastern European Perspective
The guided tour through the temporary exhibitions will be led by Dr.Tomáš Glanc, curator of the exhibition.
The international exhibition series Poetry and Performance – The Eastern European Perspective started in 2017. It gives space to a distinctive range of artistic approaches that confront authoritarian systems, presenting art works from a historical perspective but also exploring how the potential inherent in the relationship of poetry and performance has repeatedly taken on significance in countries going through social and political crises, particularly, here, in the region. The exhibition presents photographs, text scores, interactive objects, audio and video recordings, films and performance documents of unique but interrelated works from countries of the region.

MA'AM live act in the Zichy Palace courtyard
“MA’AM, or Anna Makay has been prominent in Hungarian experimental electronic music since 2017. Her unique voice, relating simultaneously to ritual forms and modern currents, and music drawing on multiple electronic forms (including dance music) are immediately recognizable.” In her performance in the courtyard of the Zichy Palace planned for the Night of the Museums, MA’AM will be connecting to the historical theme of the Poetry and Performance exhibition with a blend of voice and electronic sound through the channels of free improvisation.
